Peter Marengo has been a part of the Opus family since 1998 and brings over 17 years experience in the financial services industry. By understanding the concerns, desires and strengths of a prospective client, Peter’s main role is to identify and propose candidates for the Opus yourPFO Processsm. His team’s goal is to find strategies to improve family lifestyle by cleaning up the financial “junk drawer” which tends to be in a prospective client’s plan. In so doing, more wealth and benefits are typically created with no additional out-of-pocket cost or market risk.
For the small business owner, Peter is also the point person for the team’s Benefit Resources Processsm, saving the client the time and energy necessary to determine the most cost-efficient employee benefit structure. Upon identifying their wants and objectives, Peter will search the market on behalf of the client to find the best fit. In effect, Peter removes day-to-day burdens from HR departments while designing, communicating and implementing plans necessary to retain and attract key employees, all while helping to protect the employer from liabilities.
In 2006, Peter achieved the Certified Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation upon completing countless hours of study, participating in a two-day course and satisfactory examination from the Corporation of Long Term Care Certification, Inc., a nationally-recognized institution responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enforcing the high standards of conduct associated with long-term care planning.
A Fellow of the Life Underwriter Training Council and graduate of Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY), Peter is active in civic matters and participates in various charities through the Opus Foundation, and as an officer with the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic charitable and fraternal organization. He and his wife, Reneé, reside in Westchester and have a young son, Alexander.
